We're sending an archaeologist, a geoscientist, and a materials scientist to Naples, Italy, to decode the ancient city of Pompeii - and the historic volcano eruption that preserved the city and its inhabitants in casts.
Why did the casts form?
What was life like for the citizens of Pompeii before the eruption?
Could Mt Vesuvius erupt like this again?
Our experts will answer these questions and more via live-streaming video for students around the world. Would you like to sponsor a student or simply support the project?

Who's that kitten?
Meet Teddy, the Decoded Mascot.
Teddy is a 'forever kitten' - he was born with a neurological disorder, and he weighs under two pounds even though he's nearly a year old.
Decoded Everything adopted Teddy after he was rescued from a dog attack and taken to a local shelter.
Teddy has partial use of his back legs, and poor balance, but he's full of heart and spunk.
